Maglev

The Maglev is the fastest train on the planet. It runs from Shanghai out to the airport at a speed of 430 km/h, so we thought we take a look, and see what it’s like. Because we are in adventurous bunch, we took the Metro to the maglev station.

This has to be the only underground station in the world where they have an umbrella rental machine.

The train itself is pretty impressive, although the front is decorated with more dead insects and I’ve ever seen before.

But as always in China, there is a smart attendant to see the train on its way.

I thought I’d catch up a moment when we hit the magic speed, officially making us the fastest train in the world. TimOnTheTrain has never moved so fast!
