Today is the day that we remember the dreadful events in 2001. It’s one of those events, like the JFK assassination or the moon landing that many of us over a certain age will recall, and always remember where we were when it happened. I was in a shopping mall in London. Hearing that something was up, Mrs TimOnTheTrain and I went to John Lewis TV department, and so we saw the Towers fall on about 50 different size screens.
The world changed that day.

I have visited the memorial in Manhattan several times. It is sobering and respectful and a fitting tribute to the lives lost.
How best to remember and assess what happened? I believe that we should celebrate everything that the terrorists failed to destroy… The indomitable American Spirit, Can-Do attitude and Zest for everything that is nowhere expressed more joyously than by Rita Moreno in this clip from West Side Story
I know. Depressing. ‘Nuff said

I remember waking up to disbelief and despair. Our world changed that day, and yet I have seen no mention on the news tonight.
