A fabulous morning with this delightful train steaming from Volgelsheim station. This was a private whole train charter so we were able to organise mini photographic opportunities. We had some great high speed run pasts (I call these drive-bys, because for some reason, that’s how it’s stuck in my head, which amuses some enthusiasts and irritates others). I knocked out a quick video of the mornings events.
Our visit included a trip to the workshop and depot.

This tough little locomotive is called a Cockerill. It was designed and built by an Englishman, but in Belgium. It has a vertical boiler and was intended for use in small factories. Remarkably, it could be fired up fully from cold in one hour.

Our sincere thanks to Patrick (left) and his colleagues for making us welcome and giving us a superb visit.
